Art Under the Stars CK invites the community to stroll, sip, look, listen, and explore as local merchants, restaurants, and cultural spaces open their doors for an evening filled with creativity and connection. From exhibition openings and live experiences to special tastings and late-night shopping, this free event celebrates the people and places that make our city vibrant. Bundle up, bring a friend, and discover what downtown Chatham has to offer after dark!
Turns and Tales
Read, Drink, Play at Chatham's Board Game Cafe and Bookstore - a huge all-you-can-play board game library, fantastic local beer and wine, special seasonal cocktails, the best coffee and tea selection in town, and an independent bookstore all in one! There's a pop-up workshop by CutiePatootie Studios, for an ARTSY NIGHT OUT, Make Lovely Stickers and sip on a specialty drink. Rachel Jacobson, owner of Dabble Maker Space will have lots of cool tools and supplies for the ultimate crafting experience!
Chatham Capitol Theatre
Mainstreet Lounge (second floor): Step into the warm, intimate atmosphere of Mainstreet Lounge where great music and great conversation meet. From 6:30 pm to 9:00 pm, enjoy a live jazz trio featuring Doug Banwell, Andy Tattersall, and Peter Hyson, filling the space with rich, soulful sound. Come for the music and stay to dive into engaging discussion about CK’s Culture Plan with fellow community members. The bar will be open specially for the night, offering the perfect complement to the relaxed, creative energy.
The Garden Event Centre - The Garden On King
Cupid's on King: This February, Frosty’s is transforming into Cupid’s, a Valentine’s pop-up filled with festive cocktails, romantic vibes, and all the love. They will host musical entertainment by the Snye River Blues, featuring Mark Giles Jr, Bryan McLeallan and Mitch Doxtater.
ARTspace
Celebrating the creativity of CK’s local artists, ARTspace welcomes you to the opening of Brian Hall’s solo exhibit entitled, Psalms 1 through 30. Working in stark black and white paint on canvas Halls offers a glimpse into his lifelong act of faith and creation. The artist will be present this evening. Musical entertainment will be provided by Wallaceburg based, multi-instrumentalist Qu. Qu’s mission is to use music as medicine and to nurture the collaborative spirit of community and foster lifelong connections. (View the art, sing along, and dance!)
Art and Heirloom Shoppe
Celebrate with over 58 local artists! Come in from the cold for this visual feast, live painting and demonstrations.
Crow City Coffee
Experience an amazing cup of coffee, friendly conversation, and a warm and welcoming atmosphere. An exhibit by Artist Michaela Lucio (who will be in attendance) will be on display for all to enjoy. Michaela’s artworks explore the residue of histories contained in family photographs and infuses intergenerational relationships with memory and imagination.
CK Museum
Discover their newest exhibit CK In Full Colour. Cultures in our CK community see meaning in colour enriching our connections, traditions, and daily life. Imagine CK in Full Colour!
Thames Art Gallery
Check out RAFT, an exhibit with global focus and local interest featuring artists Karen Kraven and Swapnaa Tamhane. A sculptural feature inspired by a washing tank used by textile workers in Kutch, Gujarat, India, acts as a frame for works in paper, textiles, pulp, and fabric. Kraven’s family history in garment manufacturing (Stratford, ON) and Tamhane’s research dedicated to the history of India and artisan-designers in Kutch, Gujarat, creates an engaging exhibit referencing labour, craft and textile industries.
RAD Studio + Cafe
Welcomes you to their independent maker showroom, cafe and eco minded retail home store that strives to create a positive, welcoming, sustainable community. There will be an Artist demonstration by local potter Jackie Deane-Couture – From My Hands to Yours.
