Artist and Curator Proposals

The Thames Art Gallery accepts Artist and Curator proposals on an ongoing basis. The exhibition venues include the Ground Floor Gallery, the Mezzanine Gallery and Project Room.

Thames Art Gallery reviews artist and curatorial submissions year-round unless otherwise communicated. Artists/Curators will receive notice if the gallery would like more information.

Exhibition Proposals

The Gallery supports artist through the payment of artist and copyright fees, according to the guidelines established by CARO/CARFAC. The Thames Art Gallery also provides installation assistance, documentation, and insurance. The exhibitions are promoted through the design, printing and mailing of invitations, press releases, art publication advertisements, exhibition publications, gallery tours, the Thames Art Gallery resource library, as well as educational outreach.

Submissions should include:

  • A current résumé or curriculum vitae.

  • Ten to twenty digital images of current work or work intended for exhibition. Digital images must be numbered and labelled with the artist's name and must be in jpeg or mp4 format.

  • A numbered image list indicating the year, size, and medium of each art work.

  • A statement about the work and an exhibition proposal.

  • Additional support material such as reviews and catalogues, if available.

  • A self-addressed stamped envelope if you wish the submission returned by mail (Canadian postage or postal money order) otherwise it may be picked up in person during regular gallery office hours (weekdays 9 am - 5 pm).

Please note that submission selection is extremely competitive and that only a small portion of our exhibition programming is selected from submissions.
