The Thames Art Gallery invites the community to submit work for exhibition as part of the Community Arts Initiative: Queer Portraits.
Art selected for inclusion must meet these criteria:
It is ready to be presented in the designated space.*
It has a demonstrated connection to the Chatham-Kent community.
It is created from the perspective of, or allied with, the 2SLGBTQIA+ community.
It describes or depicts a specific person(s) or a characteristic of that person(s).
*Please note: The space utilized for this exhibition cannot accommodate artworks that require wall mounting. The gallery can provide a limited number of plinths and easels for display purposes. However, if the number of entries exceeds the available equipment, preference may be shown to artworks that include their own support. Entries may be declined due to insufficient display space/equipment.
Jurors for this exhibition will use the criteria above to include or exclude works from the exhibition. Jurors are Zachari Logan, Mike Ondrivick, and Robyn Brady.
The call for entry will open April 27th at 9:00 am and close May 29th at 4:00 pm. Entries submitted outside of this time will not be considered. Incomplete entries will also not be considered.
Artists may submit up to two works for entry. No more than 2 images per entry for example:
