Throughout history, species have evolved, thrived and declined. Today’s extinction rate, however, is higher than the natural baseline rate due to pressures from human activity. This collection of hand-drawn and painted ceramic tiles is a tribute to insects currently at risk in Ontario. The works pose a striking contrast between the beauty and importance of these creatures, and the very real threat of their disappearance.A portion of the artist’s proceeds from sales will be donated to Wildlife Preservation Canada, to support efforts to prevent species at risk from going extinct.
