Parent Information

Hello parents and guardians! Thank you for your interest in our camps. We are confident your child(ren) will have the time of their lives as they participate in a variety of creative, fun, and exciting activities. To ensure that your child has the best camp experience, please go over the information listed below.

Why Choose our Camp Programs?

  • Arts + Culture Camps inspire kids to let their imaginations grow. Our camps encourage kids to reach beyond and feel empowered to be creative and expressive

  • Camps are taught by qualified and accomplished artists/educators in a relaxed environment

Camp Staff

Our Arts + Culture Camp staff are certified in Standard First Aid and CPR. Each day your child will be met with an enthusiastic camp leader who will create an environment that is fun and exciting, while also promoting a love of learning through the arts and history.

Is Your Child "Camp Ready?"

For some children, being in an all-day camp program can be a big adjustment, and we want to make sure that your child is ready. To help you determine if your child is ready for camp, we have provided some indicators:

  • Your child can take part in activities with instructions suitable to their level.

  • Your child is comfortable interacting with other children their own age.

  • If your child has gone to school, they can stay without any issues.

  • Your child can follow safety rules.

If your child is six years of age or older and meets all of these criteria, we feel confident in their ability to successfully participate in our camp programs.

Camp Essentials

  • Lunch

  • Morning and afternoon snacks

  • Drinks and water bottle

  • Sunscreen and hat

Camp Location

Your child will attend camp at the Chatham Cultural Centre - Arts + Culture Headquarters! A great location for your camper to discover, learn and laugh. Creative Camps feature visits to the gallery, museum and Imagination Station. Daily outdoor activities at Tecumseh Park and swimming at Chatham Orville Wright Pool. Catch a movie at the Chatham Capitol Theatre on Thursdays.

Drop-Off and Pick-Up Times

Art-tastic Summer Camps start each day at 9:00 am. Doors will open at 8:45 am daily providing parents the time to sign in their child. Camp ends at 4:30 pm.
Parents are expected to pick-up their child on time or additional fees may apply.

Nut Sensitive

Due to various nut allergies among campers and staff, we ask that NO nut or other nut-ADDED products be brought to camp.

Sunscreen

Creative Camps include daily swimming and outdoor play. Help us protect your child from the sun by teaching them how to appropriately apply sunscreen. We ask that you apply the first application of sunscreen in the morning and teach your child how to reapply. Please send a labelled bottle of sunscreen with your child so camp staff can remind them to reapply throughout the day.

Minimum Number of Registrants

All programs must have a minimum number of registrants to run. Unless otherwise stated the number of participants required for any summer camp program is six (6).
