For the Love of Bugs: Janet Johnston
Throughout history, species have evolved, thrived and declined. Today’s extinction rate, however, is higher than the natural baseline rate due to pressures from human activity. This collection of hand-drawn and painted ceramic tiles is a tribute to insects currently at risk in Ontario. The works pose a striking contrast between the beauty and importance of these creatures, and the very real threat of their disappearance. A portion of the artist’s proceeds from sales will be donated to Wildlife Preservation Canada, to support efforts to prevent species at risk from going extinct.
Psalms: Part One Bryan Halls
February 4 – May 31, 2026
Opening Reception: February 6, 2026 | 5:00 – 9:00 pm
Psalms: Part One presents the first selections from Psalms 1 through 30, marking the beginning of Bryan Halls’ multi year devotional undertaking to create an artwork for each of the One-Hundred-Fifty Psalms. For Halls, this project is not merely an artistic challenge but a spiritual practice—“much like a monk painting every inch of his cell.” Working in stark black and white, he contrasts the modern world’s darkness with the clarity of Divine Light. Dedicated to glorifying God through his work, Halls offers a glimpse into a lifelong act of faith and creation.
